20th Annual Orchid Auction, St. Louis, MO

The Orchid Society of Greater St. Louis proudly presents their 20th Annual Orchid Auction. The social event will be held at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in the Beaumont Room, Sunday August 11th, 12 noon till 5PM or until the orchids run out. The auction features various orchids not found in local stores to suit all experience levels and tastes.

In addition to the witty humor of auctioneer Dick Wells of Hilltop Orchids (Cloverdale, IN), the event includes live and silent auctions, orchid inspired art and an information table to address any growing questions you might have and to distribute growing information sheets. All orchids for the auction are supplied by Hilltop Orchids, Windy Hill Gardens (Labadie, MO), R.F. Orchids (Homestead, FL), Orchids by Hausermann (Villa Park, IL) and established member growers. Orchid inspired art includes an oil on canvas by Valia Tcholakova and a B/W pencil line print by Pat Kennedy.

Founded in 1951, the Orchid Society of Greater St. Louis educates and promotes interest in orchids to the public through distributing information on their culture, development and hybridization. The society meets the second Friday of each month and includes guest speakers, slide shows, plant clinics and show tables for the display of members' plants.
