I noticed some posts that mentioned the Rod McLellan Company orchid grower in San Francisco, CA (I understand that they have been bought out by another company).

Anyhow, does anyone know the name of this cattleya and / or happen to have a 1988/1989 catalog put out by the Rod McLellan Company, Acres of Orchids? Yes,...I know a long time ago! Large flowered purple cattleya, blooms in November/December. Large, thick, curved unifoliate leaves; plant height approximately 18” tall. Photos below. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide. I lost the tag decades ago and would really like to know the name.

The only person that would have known that answer was my husband, Greg Uzar. He was the grower at Rod McLellan Company at that time. Your plant is most likely a hybrid plant, not a species. Sadly, when Rodco was sold and the land broken up, no records were kept. It is now acres of townhouses and condos.
