I got this one from Marni. It was on her ebay account. It's a recently described species in 2012 I believe. The flowers are larger then the leaves. I've also learned that it likes to stay moist and not dry out at all. This is the only flower that is open but I have 5 other spikes with buds. I'm not sure how long the flowers last so I wanted to get a picture now. If I can get better pics with multiple blooms I will post them. This was very difficult to photograph. Sorry the pictures aren't the best. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I also find it hard to photograph. This was named after my friend Lisa Thoerle who gave me a division. So your piece is a division of the plant used for the type specimen.

I'm growing it between 55F and 76F. Sometimes a little or higher but not often.

Wow, this one is very nice. Are the floral structures always contorted or is is still opening some? I like how twisty it is.

This is only the second flower I've had since I got the plant ... It's pretty recent to my collection... Both flowers were very "twisty" lol... Marni would know better then me. The plant dehydrates very fast. I've made the mistake of letting it dry out some and you can notice the effects quickly. The flowers could possibly be "twisty" do to lack of water but I don't think that's what happened. The picture that was posted on Marni's ebay page of the flower looked similar. There's not a lot of information on this orchid if you search online. Still I love it! I'm so excited that I received a piece from the specimen. I feel special lol!

Occassionally I have a flower that opens without the petals/sepals sticking together. It may need more humidity than I am giving it or more even humidity.

I love the twists, pretty unique. I'll check it on line to get more information. The temperatures sound al right!

I feel that flower has bad intentions!
It is like a Disney villain.

One more thing I wanted to add.. That flower was wide open and beautiful... I had it out of the orchidarium for 5 minutes when I was taken a photo and it started to collapse. I think there extremely humidity sensitive. When I got it back in its home I sprayed it with water and it opened back up again.
