This was a seedling from Isobyl La Croix in 2003. Happily it has survived until I could give it the conditions it needs. I can't give it the heat that it needs in the greenhouse, so I have it in a pot sitting on a heating mat.

Oooh la la. I think that shape is my favorite of all Angs. The distincta/splendida/arachnopus form is unbeatable. I deeply regret all of them that I've killed. Are you going to try to get seeds?

Marni, I have three in my greenhouse and they supported 12°C during nights last winter....I don't think that this species really need so much heat....

Yes, MrB, I did pollinate some of them, but just a short time ago.

Gilles, at the same time I put it on the heating mat I also potted it and that may have made a difference. I have 56F (13C) minimum nights all year, not just occasionally in the winter. I have recently put a really good misting system in my main greenhouse so that may help, but in general the angraecoids just do better for me potted. But they never look as good when in bloom.

I enjoy the shape of this one - the petals seem less reflexed than my arachnopus, which I believe is from a stock that came into (and quickly disappeared from) the North American market a few years ago. It would be great to cross the two and get a good mixing of the genes!
