This species is incredible! It starts spiking in December and finally blooms in July or August. This blooming has 96 flowers on 4 spikes! (For scale, each nectary is between 6.5 and 7 inches (16.5-17.7 cm) long. This is my personal favorite angraecoid -- and that is saying something given how many I grow. :)

I can`t believe how magnificent your orchid is. About 3 months ago I purchased a baby
of the same species and I was so proud because it has grown about 1". Just imagine how
I`ll feel if it ever reaches the maturity yours has. I just hope it will be in my lifetime.
How long did it take for yours to reach its pr.

No, it isn't. This plant just needs good strong light. I grow it "mounted" in a pot. By that I mean, it started out growing in a pot but has long since grown over the side and now grows pendant over the side and attached to the pot. I let it have direct light most of the day, only getting shade after about 2 pm.

I have had this plant for 7 years or so. At purchase it was not quite blooming size.

You are right to hold this as a favorite. They're wild compared to the sterile uniformity of some polyploidal Phalaenopsis amablis. The nectaries, elegance. The profusion of flowers like some temporary blizzard. I don't necessary place this in my pinnacle of Aerangis but your decision to do so is worthy and rightly determined.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone.

This plant was awarded over the weekend -- a 79 pt HCC.
So now it is officially Aerangis articulata 'Reyna's Stars on a String' :D
