Together with Encyclia mariae this is my favorite species. My previous plant had better flowers than this but died in 2018 due to crown rot during the wettest summer on record in our area. It took until 2022 when I got hold of a young plant from Ecuagenera. This is the first blooming so maybe it will improve over the next couple of years. But even the scent is weaker than my previous plant.

I just bloomed 2 plants that have been in my collection for a number of years but haven't been blooming and I didn't remember the blooms. Both bloomed this year and the difference was striking. One was magnificent with dark colors and a wide lip. The other was really insipid. The lip was pinched and stingy looking and the colors were washed out. They weren't far apart in the greenhouse, but the best one was getting daily water and the other was with the cattleyas and was dry for a few days between waterings. Your plant looks really healthy. Hope it is better next year.

I should mention that this plant is growing much faster and have significantly longer leaves than my previous one.
