Aerides odorata Lour

    I have had this plant since the beginning of October of last year. This is the first time it has ever bloomed for me. I love the shape of the buds before they bloom.

    It has survived through three different moving experiences: two different homes in Chiang Mai and now our home in Khon Kaen.

    Nisa. There are two variations: 1. All white 2. With pink spots. My plant is the all white flowers. (I will go outside this morning and sniff the plant. LOL)

    The quote below is from Internet Orchid Species Encyclopedia.

    "As it's name implies it is highly fragrant and blooms in the late spring through fall on up to 3, sharply pendant, to 2' [60 cm] long, many [to 30] flowered, ..."

    Yes Nisa. I took a whif of it this morning. Nice fragrance-- it is not strong, but I have a small plant. It has a sweet tangy perfumy fragrance. I like it!
