I recently had problems with my Android Orchidsforum app not loading tapatalk. I tried an uninstall and reinstall, but when i went to reinstall i found that the app is no longer on the Google play website.

Has the app been discontinued? I miss using it on my phone, and has greatly reduced my visitation to the site.

Good question, Bill. I knew that Tapatalk support had been discontinued but I thought the Orchids Forum app was still valid. You have probably seen this but here is what Brent said about Tapatalk:

In the near future we will be dropping support for TapaTalk. There are very few active users using it and continued issues with supporting it. We have made changes recently to make our forum even more user friendly for mobile users, including improving our image uploader to support all modern mobile browsers.

After reading your post I tried the app (not Tapatalk) on my Apple phone and it would not work. I don't know anything about Tapatalk so maybe the app is Tapatalk? I don't know.
Anyway, I went onto the internet browser on my phone (Safari) and I was able to bring up orchidsforum.com OK.

I'll email Brent and hopefully we will get an answer.

On my IOS device I could not get even the forum app itself to load. It may have been connected to Tapatalk and when it was disconnected it stopped the app too. I can still access the website from safari/internet though.

Unfortunately the app was linked to TapaTalk. We are working on improving the mobile experience via any method but an app. Apps are simply very high maintenance and limiting to other parts of the forum.

I am wondering if there is an 'icon' that I can put on my home screen of my laptop so I can access the Forum directly. I have never seen any post about that sort of thing.

The website is super slow and clunky on my Android phone. Just this website, not others.

It's frustrating and keeping me from participating. This post took about five minutes to compose.

What android phone are you using? I am seeing no issues on my S7 Edge with Chrome.

Testing on my Samsung S7 edge now. Typing is fast with no issues.

Make sure you are running latest phone and browser update. I highly recommend chrome for Android if you aren't already using it.

I'm using chrome on an lg g3 written latest updates. I'm thinking the slowness might be from the ads. Typing seems to be faster and more responsive today.
