Hey guys, just want to put in my few cents, I've bought 3 exceptionally rare plants from Forrest in the last two months, and I couldn't be happier. Prices are fair, Forrest is great at communication, and the plant descriptions are right on the money. At risk of sounding like a broken record, BUY HIS PLANTS. This opportunity does not come around often. I mean, A specimen alkmaarense???

You and Jon are doing a great service to bulbo collectors in the U.S. It's still way too hard to find cool bulbos. Just to let you know, the link for the pictures on the ambrosia is to the wrong plant, but it shouldn't matter because I'm going to do my damnedest to win it.

And feel free to post links about it in the Bulbophyllum group on facebook, I don't know if it ended up helping Jon or not but you never know...

    :D Indeed it does.

I wish you luck on your bidding. I am sad to see the plants go, but sometimes that is life. I am stoked when they can go to a member of OI.

Well, mostly, a couple of you are assholes. Yea, you know who you are. :p

edit: before anyone goes and gets all bunchy, I am kidding around. mostly. lol.

"there is no accounting for taste."

Speaking of which..... what the hell is that ungodly pink background you use for your plant photos? Other than Karen, I don't think I know anyone that has anything pink that big.

Its brown. Its the cover to my hot tub, which is conveniently placed right outside my Greenhouse. I considered setting up a nice background for those photos, but I just used my cell phone to take them anyway.

Forrest, what heat can the Bulbophyllum alkmaarense tolerate, the stormii too? Trying to decide if my gh will kill them. I can always take them to a friends that is cooler but I'd love to keep em around my place. Also, I'm seriously envious of your homebrew set up.

I am not sure what the outside range that these can tolerate would be. I grew them both intermediate, with the alkmaarense on the cooler side of that and the stormii on the warmer. Not sure what your conditions are, I would say that you will need to experiment. Both of those plants are big enough to divide so you could always hedge your bets and take a piece to your friends.

I love my homebrew setup. It is a lot of fun.
