Any readers out there?

I love Stephen King books. Haven't read Duma Key yet though but will most likely get it for xmas. Right now I'm re-reading Cell. Have you read that one...it will make you think twice the next time you go to answer your cell phone.

I enjoy Dean Koontz as well but he can't end a book as well as King.

Have you read the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini? I've read all three so far and love them. The movie was BAD though...should have left the book alone.

How about Stephanie Meyer's Twilight and the three other sequels? Yeah I know they're teenager books but I love reading so much I couldn't help it.

 

I've just started Clive Cussler's new Dirk Pit novel 'Arctic Drift'. I like the action packed novels.

 

I loved Duma Key. A nice read.

 

That is the next book on my list of must reads. I happen to be a Stephen King fan. Right now I am into the Twilight Saga and my cousin just got me for my B-day the book Eldest which I am about to start while I wait to receive the last two books for Twilight which should get to me by tuesday next week.

MJ, have you read Stephen King's "Rose Madder"? It is an awesome read and so is Desperation and Bag of Bones

 

Neyra...have you read Eragon yet? If not then you should read it before you read Eldest. Then read Brysinger...the third in the series.

 

Wendy I did read Eragon and liked it 20x more than the movie. I will be getting Brysinger as soon as I start on Eldest.

 

I'm about halfway done with Brysinger. MJ, I think Duma Key is quite different than most of King's books. I really liked it. But I balled my head off at least 3 or 4 times. Which is very usual for his books. I don't know if it's his best book, but it may be.

 

You see now I got to go to Walmart to get the book when i get home. I always have my nose stuck in a book. and you just finished peacking my curiosity for a book that I already wanted.

 

I'm a reader too MJ. My all-time favourite author is John Irving by a gazillion miles, I laugh out loud reading his stuff.
I also have all the Patricia Cornwell Scarpetta books and loved most of 'em, although a couple of the later ones were disappointing, she went a bit over the top. I was a big Stephen King fan when I was younger, haven't read any of his for years. I should revisit him.

 

It's hard to beat a Dirk Pit novel, Clark. But the old ones are still the best. Before Clive had a co-writer

 

Joe, his co-writer on the Dirk Pitt novels now a days is his son, Dirk Cussler. I agree with you on the other novels he has written with some other guy. It was like when Tom Clancy took on a co-writer, the stories just went down hill. You should try some of Cussler's new Dirk Pitt novels. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

 

I love Clive Cussler! I have most of his books. I have not started on Arctic Drift yet.

i read Scientific American and Discover Magazine this past week. Not much into "books" these days. oh yeah and all the street signs on my way to work .

 

I agree, MJ. The whole story sort of hit home with me. Dealing with a physical loss and the anger and issues that follow etc. I had to make sure I didn't read it while out. I started balling at the karate studio while waiting for my son.

 

I haven't read many of King's works but I thought Duma Key was so good I'll be looking for more. I've read all of Cussler's novels and just finished Arctic Drift. If you like mysteries with an 'orchid' twist, look for Michelle Wan's 'The Orchid Shroud' and 'Deadly Slipper.' I enjoyed them both. You could say I read a lot. :>)

 

Hey, Michelle Wan is from Guelph....the city where I live. And I have yet to read her books.

 

Has any body ever read any of Terry Pratchett's Disc World Series. Funny Stuff??
