I received my order today from Botanica, and I am more than pleased. I spoke to Mrs. Brenda on the phone, and she was very nice and helpful. My plants were very healthy and bigger than I expected. I would recommend this vendor to anyone. Here's what I got:

    Dendrophylax funalis- seedling
    Campylocentrum ornithorrhynchum- BS Division
    Cribbia confusa- Multi-growth in spike
Angraecum erectum- BS with a side growth starting
    Angraecum dendrobiopsis- Large seedling

    Thanks Marni and Alexis.

I think this will be the last few plants I acquire before I move to LSU for school. BTW does anyone know if funalis produces small leaves when its young like Dendrophylax porrecta?

Wonderful choices goods! Brenda is a wonderful gal and Botanica grows quality plants. I have bought a lot from them and everything has been excellent.

I especially appreciate how well their mounted plants are. Most mounted plants I get elsewhere I always end up remounting right away, but their stuff is always well established on the mounts. They don't have moss in between the plant and the mount which is good for how I grow my plants.

Will you be bringing all your plants with you to grow near you at LSU?

This is my first order with them, but I am very impressed with the plants. You're right. Everything is well established on the mounts and growing very well.

I'll be living in a dorm, so I'm leaving my plants at home. My dad is a landscape architect, and I've been teaching my little brother how to care for the plants. I believe they will be able to keep them while I'm away, and I'll only be 1.5 hours from home.

I just today received a plant shipment from Brenda as well. I've always promoted Botanica as one of the best online sources of quality plants, and my recent experiences continue to support that. Wonderful stuff, always, and strongly ethical folks. Most highly recommended (but I get the best plants first ...).

I second that. They are very ethical and really care about angraecoid species' survival. Also their customer service is superb!

    LOVE Botanica Ltd!
    You got some nice plants!

They also coordinate an import order from Malala in Madagascar come February...
Email them, to get the pricelist!
I've participated twice, and will again next year.

I also commend them on their customer service. It was an overall great experience.
Also, thanks Karen. I got on their Malala email list this year after seeing information posted on OI. I didn't order this year because I was concerned I was not skilled enough nor had the environment conducive to acclimating these plants to the Northern Hemisphere.

I've never had baby Dendrophylax funalis, always got mature plants from Jamaica. So it's possible.
But yours reminds me more of a chiloschista, the root habit and the leaves. I could dig up some old pix if you want to illustrate.

I thought the same thing about Chiloschista initially. I can't seem to find pictures of a seedling funalis. My Chiloschista lunifera has much longer and skinnier leaves, but these may be just developing on the pictured plant.

I'm with Jim on this one; that looks like a chiloschista. The roots look nothing like my dendrophylax funalis.
