    Success!!! I was having trouble with bud blast on this first bloomer as discussed in this thread. Thought it was my veitchianum x echinolabium but when I double checked the label it turned out to be another one.

    Finally after 7 bud blasts I got a good one!

    You're a patient man. I probably would have kicked it out the door after bud blast #3 or 4.

    The buds on mine get all the way to 4" beautiful red color but then fail to open as well. However I think I am only on number 4, here's hoping I get to see that soon!

    Mine just closed the 7th flower and has 2 more showing. It's really a stunner when you walk into the greenhouse and see this tall flower.
