The flower to plant ratio is obscene as well.

Great! I have another couple of plants I'm going to sell. I'll make sure I tag one with your name.

    180$ ??
Is that plant really so expensive in America?
    I bought my B. contortisepalum (5 Bulbs) at a German Orchid Source for 12€ (= $16,55).
Why are the plants in America generally more expensive than other places?

Because nobody in the US offers this species for sale. It's extremely uncommon here. There are plants that are very common here but are rare in the EU. And vice versa. This is one example. I don't know anybody else that is successfully cultivating this species here, actually. I'm sure there are a few, but again, this is the first time I've seen the species available for sale here.

Of course! It is possible! You simply must know, where you have to search ;)
Orchids & more (from Germany) had some plants of this species. But not in the Online shop. But now, the plants are sold out. :/
And Kopf Orchideen (also from Germany) had some B. contortisepalums too. But they are sold out. If you are interested in a B. contortisepalum, try to ask Mr. Kopf to allocate a plant for you, because he will order some plants next year in the Summer. He also had some other very rare Asia Orchids, like B. scotinochiton, B. restrepia, B, signatum, B. sigaldiae, and many more. ;)
