Bulbophyllum from Thailand

    I've had this since 1994, bought it labeled capillipes from a Thai vendor.

    This one is Bulbophyllum nipondhii Seidenf. Once endemic to a mountain in Thailand but I believe can be found in Laos also.

    Sure looks a lot like bulbophyllum niphondii, but I'm awful at IDing umbel types.

    For those who wonder where the name come from. Seidenfaden wrote

    "I have named this species after Mr.Nipondh Sornnakorn in consideration of the great care he takes of the preservation of the Phu Luang National Park, which is a most important sanctuary for many rare and threatened plants"

    PS Phu Luang is where this species discovered.
