Bulbophyllum sp. Blooming Size

    Hello All,

    I have been growing out several Bulbophyllum sp. seedlings and I'm curious about the mature/blooming size of the pseudobulbs and leaves. The plants are doing well, but I don't have any context for their current state of development. Specifically, I'm looking for details on:

    1. Bulbophyllum caloglossum
    2. Bulbophyllum unitubum

    I haven't been able to find herbarium specimens online for reference so I figured asking the growing experts would be productive! Let me know what you think.

    I grow B unitubum and think my plant is about 5" tall. The leaves if extended to full height would probably be closer to 6".

    Hi Marni, I have both of the plants you are looking for info. Bulb caloglossum is in flower now and Bulb. unitubum finished a little while back.
    Tomorrow I will take some measurements for you.. I also took some photos of Bulb. caloglossum yesterday and I will download from my camera and post them on this site soon.

    Hi GAdam, I must apologize I replied to your email and I put Marni's name on it instead of yours.
    Anyway as I said I would post some pictures of my Bulb. caloglossum, I have done that and I have just taken some measurements for you.
    Firstly Bulb. caloglossum................
    Length of leaf 148 mm
    Width of leaf 44 mm
    Length of spike from base of bud to bulb 22.5 cm
    Bulb height 24 mm
    Bulb width 18 mm
    Flower width 8 cm
    Flower height 8.2 cm
    Length of bud just before opening 30 mm
    Next Bulb. unitubum...............
    Length of leaf 157 mm
    Width of leaf 35 mm
    Width of bulb 10 mm
    Height of bulb 40 mm
    Distance between bulbs from 15 to 20 mm
    Sorry I can't give you flower measurements as my plant is not in flower.
