    Greetings all.
I have a very recently acquired Catasetum pileatum. It looked fine when it arrived about 10 days ago, but has rapidly developed some black spots and pale patches on its only leaf. No mush or liquid visible.
I don't know if these are fungal and I should give it a dose of systemic fungicide or viral and should get rid of it before it infects its neighbours.
I was foolish not to quarantine it properly, but it has a bud opening and I wanted to see that.
Problem seems to be spreading quite rapidly.
    All advice gratefully received.
    Many thanks. IMG_3516.JPG

It is usually the time to go dormant . I would just stop watering and wait for next year ( probably fungai ).

by now its sleep time for catasetums, cut all the leaves off plant and let dry.
this a normal leaf this time of year, put it aside and watch....

Catasetum are deciduos plants, they loose all leaves in winter. Don´t worry. Keep it dry untill new signs of bulbs.

Burtonr, it helps if you have your location in the box at the left. Are in the northern hemisphere?

Many thanks for the replies, and thanks Marni for pointing out that I should say I am in the southern hemisphere. So it is high summer here, but I guess the change in conditions when I got this plant could have sent it into resting mode. I think my rudimentary home-growing set-up is very different to the sophisticated conditions at the supplier. I also think the plant went through a bit of shock in transit. Anyway, the leaf is now almost completely yellow. But the flower has opened now and looks good. So if it is going into dormant mode that would be OK for me, now that it has bloomed.
