So, this seems to be an attractive way to mount an orchid. uploadfromtaptalk1398131034220.jpg I found this on ebay. I haven't yet decided if im ganna buy it. Mainly because if I have to un mount an orchid the holes would make for an un-mounting nightmare! But pro's or cons ? Has anyone chosen this if so what are your experience with it?

    Thanks for any feed back♥♡♡

I have absolutely no idea how this wood reacts to humidity…

Cholla has been a popular mounting substrate for years.

Anna - when I mount things, I never intend to "unmount" them again. As the plant outgrows the mount, and goes off of it, those are the growths that are removed (before they can attach themselves) and mounted or potted independently.

This works ok but over time it becomes brittle. I believe cork or tree fern are better substrates for mounting. They last long and are easy to obtain. You can also cut them into any size you'd like. The cholla dries our rapidly and your limited on size since if you cut it too small it breaks apart.
