Both of these plants were very weak, possibly near death, but thanks to help from folks here on the forum they are thriving now. I was keeping both too wet and the roots smothered with sphagnum.

The Comparettia ignea has put out 2 new growths, 2 spikes and lots of roots. I put enough coconut fiber over the roots just for shade but not enough to hold water. I also have a recent import of two C. falcata plants. One is on a mount with nothing over the roots and one I treated like the ignea, with a very thin layer of coco fiber. They are both doing very well and one is spiking.

The Euchile was on a mount that was rotting and holding water as well as having sphagnum moss and live moss over the roots. I put it on a new mount (cedar) and placed a very thin pad of coconut fiber over what was remaining of the very few roots. You can see the response in the photo.
