wonderlen, Cym erythrostylum is one of the warmer growing Cymbidium species while Cym. tigrinum needs a cool (cold), drier winter. I don't know how warm it will grow in the winter and still bloom, but I grow the tigrinum in the mid 40F during the winter and water sparingly. Low 50F will work fine too. They grow very well with water during the winter, but I have found spikes that have formed and get to 1/2" and then damp off. When I started growing if very dry, it bloomed OK but the plants weren't strong. So now I water some, but only enough to keep the pseudobulbs plump. Hope this helps.

Never say never. Do you have a window in an unheated area? How cold would an inside unheated area get where you live?

Heck, how cold does it get on the outside of your house?

If you can't chill it, perhaps just reducing the water in the winter will trigger blooming. It took me several years to figure out how to bloom mine. What is the temperature where it is growing?

The temperature can get to about 25+ when it's sunny. Night time is around 14-15'C. But during cold spell in winter, if i put it close to the frame, it's about 12'C or so.

That sounds fine. Get it close to the frame so it does get as much chilling as possible, but I think you can do it. It is certainly worth the effort.

Thanks. I find tigrinum very charming species. Right now the psuedobulbs are about the size of american dollar coin, so maybe it need to get a little bigger.

That sounds mature to me. It doesn't get very big, that's part of what I really like about it.
