I have a small terrestrial orchid bed beside my greenhouse here at 40'N, with cyps, platantheras and galearis spectabilis. They are in mix in pots sunk in a raised bed for drainage since our 'soil' here is entirely compacted clay, rock, and maple roots. They survive our winters here and bloom most springs, with a few hours of direst sun and the resr dappled/indirect sun.
I haven't made a final determination on the ID of this one as the sources are self-contradictory and different sources turn the IDs around backwards, so safe to say no one has any idea what these should be called. Suffice to say, this is the larger-flowered variety of whatever it is.
