I bought this mini dark purple phaleanopsis in large home supply store and it was completely dark purple in color. This year it has new buds but flowers are getting these white patches, anybody knows why this might be happening?

    Thanks!

    Probably cultural differences.

Anthocyanins, the pigments that produce reds (which are likely involved in the purple coloration) develop more quickly and fully in cooler, brighter conditions.
