This clone from Darrin at Mountain orchids has interesting green veining on the snow white petals with a magenta base. P1000115.JPG P1000116.JPG

It is a nice clone. It's nice to see different color conformations.

Very nice one Mike and quite different than the bicolors we often see. Do you know the 2 parents that were used for it?

Hi Chad, I don't know the parentage but next time I speak to Darrin I will ask if he knows. He calls this clone
    "near white"

Thanks Mike. I appreciate it. I am always looking for strange clones of cuthbertsonii. That and just about every other PNG.

Hi Dave, Every thing gets watered every day for eight minutes with the automatic watering system which keeps things pretty wet. Bright light 2000 + foot candles good air movement and cool.
Rain water with a mesh bag full of dried oak leaves in the 120 gal cistern to make the water look like tea
and fertilizer to bring the TDS to around 150 with a PH of 6.5 P1000055.JPG

Wow Mike, that's a lot of plants. Thanks for sharing your cultural techniques. That is an interesting system you have. I would love to grow these but I don't think I can keep them cool enough.

What media do you have them potted in that doesn't turn to mush getting water everyday?

That is a lot of cuthbertsonii. Hey if you have room, why not! They certainly will give you colorful display year round. Although cuthbertsonii is readily available/common , it is the best oxy Den. species IMO.....

How exactly does one have too many cuthbertsonii?

I Agree! There is always another color form to discover and the plants are really interesting even out of bloom.

Hi Dave, I Grow the majority of all my plants mounted on tree fern or cork. For potted plants I use Sphagnum moss
mixed with Osmunda fiber roughly 60/40, never over pot and repot about every year.
Also I knock the bottom out of my clay pots to improve drainage and aeration.
