I purchased both of these plants a few months back and both quickly budded. The first was purchased as Den. vexillarius var. retroflexum, but by the looks of it, I would disagree. The flower is a a very pale pink with green tips and a bright orange throat fading to a maroon color towards the tip. The other was purchased as a pink variety, but I was expecting white as a lot of the others in the batch turned out white. Luckily, it bloomed a fairly dark pink with a neon orange throat.

First four photos: Den. vexillarius var. retroflexum (?)
    Last five photos: Pink variety

Hi Chris, very interesting on the green tipped variety...let me know if you ever get a division. I once saw a cuthbertsonii that had green tips as well.

I am planning on trying to self this plant. I already cross pollinated both of them and am waiting on another flower to open on the green-tipped plant so that I can pollinate it.
