Hi everyone, I would like to let you all know of this eBay seller from where I'm from, Puerto Rico, that its selling wild collected native & endemic orchids in which its illegal....do not buy from the seller....I don't know if by putting its eBay seller name or the store link would bring any problems here, let it be legal or any kind, so if some one could tell me if i can or can not please do tell :)....the thing is that I'm very frustrated because while there are some of us that are trying to protect what little we have left there are others that just want to make money out of them without realizing the consequences it has on the species, also the colonies of some species are getting difficult to spot in the wild and some of those species he has them for sale and by doing that the seller is exerting pressure on the species in a way that people prefer to go shopping in the forests rather than spending from $40 - $300 for a plant that its not even established or artificially seed propagated.

We've had this sort of thing come up before. You can express your opinion of what the buyer is doing and give the user name. That is what this section is for: good and bad. If that person has a disagreement there is room for comment.

Brent has been very supportive about defending people's right to express their opinion here.

Thanks for letting me know Marni....the sellers name is xxxrickygxxx and can be found by making a search for Lepanthes woodburyana or Encyclia isochila which are two species that are found in Puerto Rico one native and another endemic.....I would really appreciate if word can be spread about this seller because what he's doing has to stop.

You should report him to ebay, as he is plainly selling illegal plants.

You might have to call them. Their system for reported vendors for improper sales does not take plants into account.

Yes I could and can but I'll also have to do what Marni says and I think that It wouldn't do much either because eBay doesn't have a way of knowing that he is selling wild collected orchids, we on the other hand know when they are seed propagated and when it is wild collected but those that work on ebay hmmm hardly...but I don't loose anything by trying.
