    think I did it justice! I like this little girl so much! I use pantyhose should I move to useing the clear fishing wire ? Im hoping it grasps on with all the might it looks like it will! . Only new root will hold onto the mount right ? The old ones are now just never ganna hold ? I didnt want to move it around to much :-D

    Nice job on the mounting. If the old roots are actively growing the new tips should start clinging to the mount. So, yes, any fresh root growth should grasp. The pantyhose should work fine. I know that other people use them. I have used fishing line, wire, electrician staples and jute twine. The twine rots very fast so don't use that. Good luck.

    my guess is the pantyhose is easier to use than fishing line. I use the 'ugly' green plastic coated horticultural wire because it is easy. Most plants, if they are happy, attach pretty quick and I remove the wire in a few months.

    Well I just bought a box of knee highs for 4$ for this purpose but also bought raffia ribbons a straw color . But im hoping to use that at some point ... but the panty hose catches allot easier :)

    Looks like you did a great job. I also use the pantyhose. They work awesome and are more forgiving than wire or fishing line. That is one beautiful and huge plant!

    Beautiful plant. I also have one of these courtesy of Kelly and I love it. It looks like its finally about to bloom and I am pretty pumped about that. Thanks again Kelly, you are such a great help to us beginners.

    Same thing here Anna. I plan to give divisons away to beginners to pay it forward when my plants get to that size. Speaking of that, Kelly, how do you divide your Restrepias so I know how to do it when the time comes? The ones you gave me seem to just send up leaves from a central point so I am not sure how to do it as there is no visible rhizome to cut? Do they start sending off basal keikis or something when they come of age?

    They form keikis from the leaf bases readily. Also, when repotted or remounted there is frequently a natural division point.

    Looks great! Mine is mounted similarly, and has filled out nicely. Love the little carpet of flowers each year!
