Encyclia (Prosthechea) vitellina

I got this plant last summer, and my conditions are not ideal for it (too warm). But the growths matured normally, it spiked, and the flowers came out fine. Though I did knock the first bud off just as it was about to open (boo!) So imagine one more flower. I believe this is the first bloom for this seedling (the previous growth has what looks like a dried up empty sheath.)

The flowers are about 1¼" wide, with heavy substance, and long lasting. First bloom has been open for over a month. The color is so bright and cheery. I'm growing it in high light with daily watering year-round (generally completely dry before the next watering), plenty of air flow, and intermediate but with 50°F winter nights for about 2 months. Ideally it should be grown cool-intermediate or cool, but this is what I can manage.

The plant would probably look nicer if grown cool. But it flowers fine. I'm growing it intermediate.
