    En. tampensis is natural to the southern half of Florida. That are plentiful. They were first discovered near Tampa. Hence the name.

    It is growing on a palmetto tree. I have several orchids on this tree. They like most palms...

    I'm also looking at the Myrmecophila you have mounted above it. One of my favorite genera right there!

    I know which you mean. I still call them Shoms. This one is tibicinis. I have a yard crew that works on my yard weekly. They are Guatemalan Mayan indians. Nice people and exceptional workers. One of them was walking by the tree and pointing to the tibicinis and exclaiming "ek". At first I was not sure what he was saying. Spanish or Indian dialect. Ek is the name of the plant in dialect. Kew gardens has been the global record keeper for all plants for 100's of years. But the Mayans have noticed and named the tibicinis thousands of years ago. So should we be calling it Ek?
