Epidendrum longicaule

    Epidendrum longicaule. I've grown this miniature since 1999 and never really cared much about it. I grew it mounted, let it dry between waterings and it always looked a bit ratty. A couple years back, a keiki moved into a nearby hanging basket and established itself. I started getting nice bloomings on a robust looking plant. Now I'm really happy I didn't get rid of it.

    No kidding! That’s nice.

    what do you figure is the primary cultural difference? More constant moisture?

    It started doing well when in established in a Stanhopea basket. So I would say never completely drying out.

    Nice! It kinda reminds me of amitostigma/poneorchis.

    Yes, me too. But also Epidendrum centrapetala. Someone else mentioned Ionopsis.
