I have a small orchid garden at my home and I’m planning to expand the garden. I noticed the burrow of a skunk in the lawn. I’m worried whether it would harm my plants. I‘m going to plant orchids all over the lawn so I need to close the burrow but I don’t wish to kill the skunk. I think it has young ones too. How can I evacuate them? Can I do it myself or call a wildlife re locater. Please give suggestion. I have heard that skunks will produce a foul smell whenever someone approaches it. Is it true? I have surfed about this but didn’t get an appropriate answer.I noticed a website (http://removethewild.com) of a wildlife relocater but don’t know much about them. Do anyone of you have experience with this situation?. Please help…...

You DEFINITELY want to let a pro take care of skunks!

I think it would be interesting to observe the life of a skunk family, but you probably won't ever see them - secretative creatures that they are. The interaction between plants and animals usually depends on being part of the food equation or not, i think.

Well, you can see the family move about in twilight. Cute watching the kits trailing their mother single-file. Skunks, being members of the weasel family, are carnivores, mostly eating grubs and things. It's their digging that's the real problem. That and when the encounter a dog. But I'd rather have skunks than squirrels.
