First Rays 20th Anniversary

    It was 20 years ago last January that my 20+-year collection of plants, many obtained from street vendors or personally collected while traveling is South American and Asia, was wiped out by a heater failure on a 7°F night. After acquiring a few plants via mail-order and at the Philadelphia Flower Show that spring, we offered a few divisions to other growers online (Comp-U-Serve Gardening Forum), we had takers within hours, making October 14th, 1994 our start of business.

    So, between now and the 14th, if you use the coupon code "20YEARS" at checkout, the cost of all stock items will receive a 20% discount.

    OK, now this is something of a surprise to me, but it does speak volumes about our rushed attitude:

    Despite having two large, prominant graphics on the store home page that gave the coupon code out, many must have bypassed it instantly, as only 23% of the folks ordering eligible stuff used the discount code.
