    How about a little quiz? Found this guy in the greenhouse, good or bad guy? For scale those are 4" pots. I know what it is do you?

    It sure would help a lot knowing where you are... I have a local snail that is purty like yours, but doesn't do any orchid damage. If you're in SFl, I'd say it's the guy I know (can't remember his name right now;) but if you're somewhere else, I haven't a clue.

    I live in central florida and the snail is native to the southeast, no hermit crabs are involved. BTW Amazon has a children's book about the life of this snail.

    snails eat vegetation so i would crush the life out of him rapidly...ask questions later....

    I get them all the time. I believe they cane in with imported orchids.

    Well, it looks like you ought to leave them be, Jean. I would have squashed them, too. I never knew there were predator snails. I don't have any of these, but wish I did. I'm going to have to put out some snail bait very soon:<

    Thanks Bruce. Per your link, they're not legal in my county. Poop. They'd be appreciated here for sure. I wonder what ecosystem they'd muck up here...
