    What do you think is this a good plant to get for a first try at growing intermediate to cool growing orchids.

    Hybrids are generally easier and more adaptable than the species, so I would say it would be a good choice.

    The best thing to do is look up the parents of the cross and then investigate those for elevation, any habitat notes, see what you can find on google.
