I have mixed feelings on the idea. I tried a few with hot glue. I have so many questions about this. Are all glues safe to use or should stay away from toxic glues? How much to apply to keep good support? Where to apply glue(roots, base of bulbs, side of bulbs)? Does it last any longer than fishing line or strings?
I thank you in advance for any advice or opinions.
Here are two of my first attempts. I put glue on the live moss then pressed down and the masdevallia I made a pocket with glue and moss then tucked the roots in.

Just a little dab on the moss is enough.
To much will soak through and make the moss hard.
It helps to use wet moss when mounting.

Super glue is it Jacob. I use the glue that comes with an activator (alcohol). Safe for the orchids. They use it on people to seal wounds. Has held well for me even when applied to a wet surface. I would stay away from the hot glue gun!

This is good to know. I used to spend many frustrating hours trying to mount very small plants with thin fishing line. Going forward, super glue it is!

When reading on sites where they sell Till's. they use a glue for them, don't know if it is any different. I have never tried it, so far have struggled with the fishing line.

How do you get the moss to stay on the mount?

I've used frag and coral glue in the past. I'm not a fan of using glues. If you need to remount its almost impossible. If you want to change your moss out you can't. If you use to much you get a white residue. It does work well. I just don't like how permanent it is. This could just be me. I've only had limited experience with it.

Bty, it HAS TO be the gel or else it will run.
I only use it on long-term mounts.
You only use a little bit.

I agree, I use the same gel super glue that I use for my coral frags and so far it has worked wonderfully. A little dab'll do ya.

For Tillandsia, I have used E6000 (which was recommended). But why do you want to glue orchids, which can attach by themselves?

It can take years for some to attach, others never do.
They just grow in the moss on the trees.
Gluing them keeps them secure and holds the moss on the mount.
