I'm going in June or may to Oceanside Cali just wondering if anyone knows a good orchid vendor out there?
Going to see my cousins that have moved out there from their former cold weather Ohio home ;)
Any ideas of places to visits would be wonderful help :)
    Happy Monday everyone!

I am sure they must have a lot of nurseries there. I can't wait to see what you pick up Anna.

Definitely visit andy's. Make sure to call or email for a visit time. Also, make sure to give yourself plenty of time for the visit as well as a large budget!

You shouldn't have any problems taking plants out of California. Bringing them in can be a problem. Andy's is overwhelming and a must see. Give yourself as much time as possible and don't plan on visiting another grower the same day.

I personally also think it is impossible to carry "a" plant onto a plane......mainly because I have found it impossible to purchase and bring home only one! I have carried plants on many times. Just find a shipping store and buy a box that is less than the max size of a carry on and you are good to go. Many carriers will also let you gate check a box if it is too big for the overhead. Just tell the baggage guy at the gate that they are plants and they will usually find a warm spot in the hold for them. Most plants will tolerate that for the short time they are in there.
