    Hi everyone,

I've just joined this group and am looking forward to learning more about orchids and sharing good conversation with you.

I live in New York City. I've grown a few cymbidiums for many years, successfully, and they are like members of the family. They've done well by staying in my backyard during the summer and coming indoors for the winter. But, in the past couple of years, the orchid addiction has kicked in and I've ventured into trying my hand at growing a few more kinds of orchids in my tiny growing area.

I am insatiably curious about everything related to orchids and am looking forward to being part of this very knowledgeable, supportive community.

I think it's our curiosity that keeps us young. At least, that's what I'm counting on! LOL

Welcome. there is so much to learn and tempting orchids out there that you will keep young forever. Have fun with your exploration. Because of your limited growing area, realize what the range of conditions you can provide and pair that with plant that like those conditions. ex Whitestonian from Quens.

Good to see some more east coasters on the forum! If any of you can make it to the SEPOS show in April I'd be happy to show you around. It's in Philly at the Academy of the Natural Sciences and there's going to be a ton of great exhibits and vendors. I'm going to make a new thread for it so keep am eye out.
