I have been waiting for a while to be able to post this plant. I'm in the process of working with new lighting, so I just couldn't quite get a picture that I felt was good enough, but I think I finally got it.

Overall, this is my new favorite orchid. This is a first bloom for this plant for me and I am really, really pleased with it.

    What lighting are you using?

I'm using normal compact fluorescent lighting (6000K or 6500K, don't remember) with softboxes and umbrella softboxes. My camera seems to react with the lights very oddly if I don't have the color temperature set to the point where the real image appears identical on the camera's digital image. It's taking some getting used to, but I really like it so far.

Nicholas, can your camera shoot in RAW format? If it does, that makes color correction really easy. I shoot under lights and have a "white/grey card" that I occasionally include it in a shot so I can correct the lighting on the computer.

I'm actually not sure if it can or can't. How would I figure that out?
