I'm leaving town for a few days, be back Monday. Keep my seat warm, will ya? 'Preesh.

I'm headed for a long weekend to TN, where ALL of The Girls (sisters) will be drinking coffee and sweet tea while sitting on the back porch of a TN farmhouse, overlooking the hay fields. This will be the first time since Mom died that the four of us have been in the same place at the same time. 16 years. Too long. I anticipate great fun and lots of bad photos.

A cookout with the whole TN clan, nieces/nephews,their kids (and there is a whole passel of them) on Saturday night. Temps in low 80's. Shiiit.

I hope the branch is full and running, I love that part of the farm.

ANYWAY, gotta scoot. Make sure there's lots of beer left, this is a dry vay-kay. That's why it's only a long weekend. :D

    Peace out, for now.

AH, another thing to add to the list of things I hate about Texas. Ask for sweet tea and they look at you like you have four heads.

That's surprises me, Chris. I know in OH, it's unheard of but TX? That sucks. And adding sugar to tea just is not the same, I know.

You are going to have so much fun! Why dry? Just curious. Stay safe -- we'll keep the beer cold.

Ann, my TN sister, where we will be congregating, is a Southern Baptist. She's very cool and lots of fun but you know..they don't drink. And anyway, if I can't go for a few days without a *sob* beer, well, I need a peachin' to, ya know?

Does a Long Island Iced Tea count as Sweet Tea?

I had one of those Long Island Iced Teas once. I thought I'd been poisoned. Yuck. Had a Manhattan once, too. That was even worse.

Linda, sweet tea is a drink here in the south US. You make a big container of tea using hot water and tea bags. While it is still warm you add as much sugar as the liquid can dissolve. You decant the liquid out of the container and into a pitcher. That's sweet tea in the south.

Sounds like caffeinated Karo syrup. Don't see that on the west coast.

You can use decaf tea -- then it's decaffeinated Karo syrup. It's a Southern thing, Linda. Comedians even joke about it but it's here to stay I guess.

The first time I tasted sweet tea, I thought my teeth would fall out from the sweetness. Now, I can't drink tea that doesn't taste like Karo syrup.

Awwww, so you're the baby. Assuming you started with the oldest. You could be messing with our minds -- that ain't hard. Great photo. How come you drink the most beer (I assume you do) and you're the skinniest? Answer me that! Glad you had fun. Getting together with family is the best!
