I know that raccoons are smart critters, but I'm going to try and out smart him. The squirrels do not get around the baffle that I had on the pole, but somehow the raccoon has no problem. So I did a modification to the baffle, some spikes to throw some unpleasantries into his adventure maneuvering around the baffle.

No bloody spikes and seed is still in the feeder. However, the raccoon usually shows up during the day.

The only "daytime" raccoons I've ever seen were rabid.

Only in Florida. Or possibly only in Clark's yard in Florida. He certainly has flair!

It has a copper roof. You should see the birds it attracts.

i looked it up once because MJ commented about a big ass coon in her yard during the day - coons are awake and eating during the day if the food is there and they are hungry, so for Clark to see it during the day is "normal".

are the spikey things razor sharp top to bottom along the edges and tips ?

i have gotten a "plastic" cut on that crap packaging they seal electronics and stuff inside & IT HURTS , so i bet the squirrels and coons will only try it out once.
