I am a new member to the Orchids Forum and wanted to introduce myself. I have been growing orchids on and off for the last 38 years and enjoy them immensely. I have a nice cross section of species and hybrids. Dendrobiums and Cattleyas do well in my environs here in Gainesville, Florida. I grow out-of-doors for most of the year using shade houses and in a green house during the winter. For the last two years I have been able to grow phaleanopsis with ease something that I've never been able to do! I wish I could find the right combination for my paphiopedilums! Well anyhew hello to all and I look forward to being a part of the Orchids Forum.

Hey Joe Jo I think 7-10. It was a good size when I purchased it. This year we have had lots of rain and the Neo just out did itself.

Howdy Paigar, my Neo is still in a 2.5 plastic pot, about 3" tall and about 5" wide, but it has 3 new fans on it already. It's supposed to bloom for the first time in about 12 months or so, I guess I will have many years to enjoy it then. I used to live in W. Palm Beach years ago, the sun would shine on my side of the street and on the other side it would be raining like hell. Thanks

Welcome Paigar lovely plants. We have similar climates, as i live in the Caribbean. Dendrobiums, Oncidiums, Cattleyas, Phals and Spathoglottis thrive here

You can grow paphiopedilum in Florida. I do have one and growing it. I got it since July 5 th and waiting for it to bloom. Phalaenopsis and Paphiopedium are very easy-growing. I prefer warm-type which are mottled leaf. :). (I'm in Tampa, Florida )

Hi Paigar! Beautiful Neo too! Are those lampwork beads on your avatar, or polymer? I teach lampworking in Dallas. Welcome to the forum.
