Please be careful! Be safe and check on your neighbors! If need be, you know your friends here can call local authorities for you!

We lost power about 7 pm yesterday, and have no idea when it will be restored. Fortunately, my generator powers the greenhouse, our well pump, furnace (for heat and hot water), and a few random circuits in the house, including the one running our computers, FiOS box, etc.

Lots of branches down, no damage to the house or the First Rays van, which lives outdoors.

I was very happy to learn that a tank of gas will take the generator more than 12 hours, so I got a decent night's sleep.

Cooking on the gas grill, but that's not exactly "roughing it".

We are some of the very lucky ones here considered the storm landed just not that far from us. Everything is fine so far...no damages and the power is still on.

The storm is not over yet for some. Hope every one stays safe!

I'm about 15 minutes away from AC and still without power. Haven't had power since yesterday afternoon. I don't have a generator. Hoping the power turns on soon so I can run the fans on my terraria.

    Good luck to all!

Power was restored last night. Everything in my neighborhood is well. A few downed trees. The photos coming back from just ten miles away from my house are insane- entire streets wiped out in coastal towns. God help us.

Hang in there Ray! Hopefully you'll be restored quickly. I like to think of it as camping at home. Stay positive.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't be so edgy about it, but 1) I have a dog in need of radiation treatments, and the vet is down, too, and 2) I just started a full-time contract job last week, and it would be nice to actually do it.

Oh My Ray! I really hope you and your dog make it through this. My last dog also have to have radiation treatment among other things such as pain killers and steroids so I completely understand your dilemma there. Please keep us posted!

    Hi All,
We got power! No real damage at our place, just 4 days with no electricity or cell phone coverage. Time will tell what this did to our plants. It was cold - below 50 degrees and dark. But we were blessed - one guy just up the road from us lost between 50 & 60 trees. The house is covered with fallen trees, but none of them touched the house. It will take months of careful work to remove them.
