Laelia purpurata v.oculata

    This one is also a first-bloom seedling. While I like the lip coloration, I am not thrilled about the form of the sepals. Perhaps they will improve on future bloomings, as cattleyas are wont to do. I am posting these under their traditional names, though I have always believed they were, as they finally are now, cattleyas.

    Nice colour lip. I see what you mean about the sepals though. I bought mine under the genus Sophronitis but like you I believe they are no Cattleya.
