    It appears to be Myrmecophila (Schomburgkia) grandiflora or tibinis in the background.

    Agreed. Myrmecophila are some of my favorite plants. I wish I had space to grow a few myself. Most are quite large. grandiflora and tibinis flower on spikes as long as 6 feet and the plants are quite large too. Myrmecophila thomsoniana and atropurpera (albopurpera?) are two fairly small ones in that genera though.
