I bought this as L. purpurata, but I dissected a flower and noted the fragrance. It looks like this plant is the hybrid Lc. Canhamiana (L. purpurata x C. mossiae). The strongly forward petals should have tipped me off. The flower on this plant has only 4 pollenia instead of the 8 that L. purpurata should have. It has a nice full-bodied fragrance similar to C. mossiae rather than the anise fragrance of L. purpurata. Also, the column is broad rather than narrow. So, I'll re-label this plant as Lc. Canhamiana and have a talk with the vendor I got it from.

It's lovely, even if it's not what you thought you paid for.
