This miniature species occurs in Ecuador and Colombia at elevations of 450-1500m. The flowers are only 3-4mm and the leaves 1,5-2cm.

    Thank you!

Canon EOS 450D, Tamron AF SP 90/2,8 Di Macro 1:1 and only daylight! Never cared much for artificial lighting...

    Fantastic as always!

Y'all should have been checking out the UK orchid forum. Thomas has been posting photos just as good, there, for years. I was quite glad to see that he had arrived at this forum as well.

    Thank you Karen and Lynne!

I'm glad you like the lens, Dale. It's really a superb lens especially when you compare price/performance.

Outstanding, Thomas!! This is my favorite orchid ever. I love everything about it! Unfortunately, it doesn't feel similarly toward me. Your pictures are the best I've ever seen of this plant. They leave me speechless...

    Thank you for sharing!!

"It's really a superb lens especially when you compare price/performance."

It certainly is. I made comparison photos today of Maxillaria cucullata in full bloom. I discarded the photo from the L glass lense and used the image made with the Tamron. I didn't convert the L glass image to a hi-res jpeg and if I had, I might have reconsidered. However, Cature One is usually very good about illustrating post-conversion jpegs/previews and it was getting close to my nap time.
