Recently described species from Peru! Pretty flowers held under dark purple leaf. Seems to always be in bloom. I grow one of my plants intermediate (75F day/55F night) and the other ones cold (65F day/55 F night) and they seem to both do well.

This species also has the distinction of being the first plant species in >1.4M plant names and 270 years of botanical nomenclature to be composed of a single letter. It gets its name from the protagonist of an infamous French novel called The Story of O and the subject of this song:

This particular clone is called 'Anne Desclos' named for the author of the book (she also goes by Dominique Aury, and the book was published under the pseudonym Pauline Reage). Anne/Dominique/Pauline has an interesting biography you can read about here: I wrote the story of O

Awesome species. Do you know roughly where in Peru it comes from and the elevation?

Yeah! From Huánuco Peru, probably above 2,000m but it seems to grow fine under intermediate or cool
