Lepanthes sp.

    So I just picked up this orchid at a local show labelled as Lepanthes sp. with no other info given.

    I know my pics are terrible because the bloom is so small, but hoping maybe someone can ID it based on the bloom..if not I can try somehow to get better photos.

    I believe your plant may well be Lepanthes ciliisepala. I attach some photos of Lepanthes ciliisepala with which you may compare, since yours are rather hard to make out. This has been disseminated with the name "Lepanthes jayandella" and the collecting data of Ecuador, based on some confusion at J & L Orchids literally decades ago. It is vigorous, floriferous, and self-fertile. And cute, too!

    I know my pics are terrible, but its coming into bud again so I can try to take better photos. That does look like a really close match. I did actually get this plant from J&L.
