    Nice one Harry!

Tom, here is a picture of my bicolor... looks like it has a lot less purple on the lip.

I do have bicolor but it has not flowered for me. This plant is generally a little smaller.

    Thanks, orchidkarma.

Harry, does your flower open a bit more than that? My bicolor is in bloom now(I think) and I will compare it to your bohnkiana... please post your observation because I do want to know the diff.(plant and flower). So far, based on photos posted here and other websites, I think it is just an expensive and slightly modified bicolor...

I had thought the same thing and I really don;t know whether it is or isn't. The flower never really opens anymore than this from observing the 2 times it has flowered. Looks like this species was described in 2004 in Brazil. It's said to be smaller than bicolor but very much like it in all other aspects. I have no idea what was said to be the factor for making it a separate species.

Mine was imported as bohnkianum. It was a little pricey at $25 but not bad I thought.
