I have been collecting some Masdevallias and other Pleurothallids and I would like to pollinate some but due to my 61-year old eyes I cannot see well enough to do the job. I was wondering if there was any magnification equipment that any of you use to assist you with this type of thing.

Wade, this is what I use: Donegan DA-10 OptiVisor Headband Magnifier, 3.5x Magnification, 4" Focal Length. It comes in different magnification (smaller) but if you are doing pleurothallids, I recommend this magnification.

I used this one at a friends and liked it so much I took a picture. Hers may have been newer and cleaner, but it seemed to have a very crisp view.

I was thinking about making one of these for the greenhouse. I have some Macroclinium I need to do. They have TINY floral parts.

We had a couple we would use in organic chemistry to take pictures of crystal structure for reports etc. It works pretty well. You can tell the over all build, the lens we used was from a laser pointer.
