I found it hard to photograph, but this gives an idea of my intermediate greenhouse. It is about 21 x 21 ft, 8 ft hight at the side walls and 13 at the highest. It is about time to start adding more shade cloth layers soon. Sorry for the red tags, that's how I mark divisions. The west wall of the greenhouse is attached to the house which helps keep it cooler in summer. It is pressure treated wood with double wall polycarbonate and is built on block and piers rather than a foundation.

The design was dictated by the fact that I was building it over my existing old green house that was a low roof and 12 x 14 ft, so the center beam is not in the center. The old one was demolished after all but a few polycarbonate panels were in place, so the orchids were only without a swamp cooler for a 24 hours.

It has worked out well and if I get the money to replace another one that is rotting away, I would do a similar design.

Awesome. Wish I could take a breath of that air. Buoyant is the adjective I'm thinking of.

Quite impressive. And crowded! Looks like you need to expand... :poke:

Do you also have cool and warm houses?

The air is very buoyant in there, lots of oxygen, too.

A couple of members of the forum have been to visit, so if others are going to be in the area, please contact me to see if we can arrange a visit. I have one friend, Ron Parsons, who comes to photograph and visit regularly and gets excited about what's in bloom. One of the things I love about this forum is that it is like visiting other people's collections and having people see what I am growing too. I'm including an image of the big Dendrobium where it grows in this greenhouse.

Clark, it is double wall polycarbonate.

Jon's already been here, so it's old hat to him.

Eddie, I do need more space, since less orchids doesn't seem to be in my vocabulary.

This is my warmest house at 56F. The other two are cooler. I will take pictures of them too, but they are even harder to photograph and less plants in each. One of them is rotting, so I can't wait forever. Like most everyone, I'm waiting for the economy to turn around. The one I most want to replace has a low ceiling and just doesn't have the same feel as this house.

I know someone asked for pictures of mounted draculas, I haven't forgotten.
