A cool growing species from Colombia. Long lasting flowers and a compact plant. The leaves are a bit under 6" tall.

    What a beautifully grown plant.

Looks like baby birds wanting to be fed.

You are totally my inspiration, Marni!
This is the most fantastic masdie I have ever seen!
Are there threads on your growing area?

Thanks to all for the kind words.

Kermie, I don't think I have ever done a thread on this growing area. It is in the greenhouse with 50F minimum night in winter and just a bit warmer nights in summer. Daytime rarely goes over 80F for more than an hour or two and is usually around 75F. I have an evaporative cooler and a heater controlling the extremes. The light where it sits is moderate, at mid-day if I hold my hand 18" above the plant there is a shadow, but not a very distinct shadow. Lots of fans on medium speed in this greenhouse. I have to use RO water because my city alters the water. I water with about 160 ppm (1/4 tsp per gallon) of low potassium fertilizer (MSU). I try to pot in media/pot size and type that will have the plant approaching dryness the next time I water. I also grow it mounted with almost daily water and it does equally well. Hope that gives you an idea of where this grows.

Sorry... please excuse the chemical nerd in me: MSU is low-phosphorus, not low-potassium. That would be K-Lite.

Thanks Ray, your right. I use the regular MSU for RO. I got my P's and K's mixed up.

Thank you Marni! You may find me at your greenhouse door some day :)
Being an indoor grower of masdies is tough work -esp in Southern Ontario -Hot and humid summers meets dry indoor air winters. I'm not sure which is worse, probably the summers. Either way, it can be difficult to get much temp swing indoors.
